Default Alternator rebuild

Aloha,
Anyone ever rebuild their own alternator? I rebuild other Toyota alternators, common problem was the brushes on the motor. Only cost $5 for brushes and some soldering and elbow grease. What about our alternators? Brush problems too?

Dude you said you rebuild toyota alternators. Lexus is Toyota and all the parts in our cars are stamped Toyota. I don't think there will be a difference.

I want to repair my alternador. What do you look for to determine the brushes are bad? Are they simply worn to nothing? Where do you buy your brushes and parts?

I don't know about brushes but both bearings are standard size available at about any bearing supply store for $4 to $5
