Importing LS or SC from US to Canada
In the next few weeks I will be importing either a LS or SC 94-95 from the US into Canada. Just curious if anyone has any idea whether a US lexus 94-95 would have daytime running lights installed. Also how easy would it be to convert the speedometer from Miles to KM ?

I just imported my 91 LS400 to Canada.........thinking of selling it here.....
94-95 from the US wouldn't have daytime running lights installed, and since they already have the km/h in smaller font size, there's no need to convert it to a canadian dash setup. Once thing you are going to be missing that US cars don't have are the headlight washers. Where in Canada are you located??

i don't know how nova scotia works, but I had to pay import tax on my 91 LS...7% GST, plus another $182 for the inspection, also had to have the ontario drive clean emissions inspection done.....luckily I had a local Lexus dealer appraise my car for less than it was worth so I didn't have to pay that much tax....

So you paid 7% at the border and the remaining tax when you registered the car? 7% of the purchase price of the car? or do they appraise it at the border. My grandparents own a used car dealership, so I'm giving the money to them and buying it through their dealership, I will just leave it in their name until I sell it so I don't have to pay tax. I assume I will still have to pay the 7% at the border but I will get it back when they do their next HST report.
