How to take out the yellow fog glass, brighter fog lights
After reading the thread about getting rid of the yellow in the LS fog lights I decided to try it. Since there was no specific “how to” on this I decided to write one up for everyone, even though this is very simple. Here is a before and after shot that clearly shows the difference.

Step 1: Look in your manual, it has instructions for bulb replacement!
Step 2: Remove screws and bolts. There are three screws that hold the fog light in the headlight assembly. Instead of removing the entire headlight assembly I removed the two bolts circled in red, lifted up slightly on the assembly and pulled out the fog light. Disconnect the wiring.

Step 6: Place in something so that when you break the yellow glass it doesn't go all over the place. I put mine in this plastic dish and broke it with the needle nose. Take out the cardboard gasket.

Without the yellow glass.
Step 7: Re-assemble everything. Remember to put the rubber cover on again and connect the wiring harness to the bulb! Test to see if it works.
Congratulations you now have brighter lights!

i might just try that tomorrow! i knew it was easier than i thought it was going to be.
What bulbs would be good to match both the driving lights and the fogs?

Thanks!
Excellent write-up, Earl! My favorite kind of mod, no special tools needed,,,, at my favorite price too
After I wrote this, I got off my butt and went to the garage and did it. Total time? About 45 minutes including fishing out the screw I dropped down in the bumper panel , and cleaning and putting some protectant on the rubber covers. Now I need to find a way to polish the glass on the fogs and headlights, it is very pitted from highway use. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I agree, this is a great mod...it's free! It's really amazing how much brighter my lights are, I think I'm gonna start using my fogs along with my headlights all the time now due to the drastic increase in visibility. Oh, I'm just using the stock bulb guys, they looked brand new .

Hope you're enjoying your whiter and brighter fog lights
About the pitted headlight covers, I have had pretty good results using car polish (3M hand glaze), rub the polish on, using firm but even pressure. Finish it off with some Pledge spray.
It won't do wonders, but at least will make the plastic cover look newer and smell lemony
Hope it helps
