Temp gauge not working, along with RPM and speedo
I've been having issues with my cluster as well. In the heat, the speedometer and RPM gauges stick to the bottom. Also, my temp gauge only barely reaches the first notch, and if i bang on my dash to get the speedo and RPM gauge to bounce up, it knocks the temp gauge down even further. Not sure if I need a new thermostat, or a new gauge cluster? Or maybe its an ECU problem like I've read about from several other people on here. Either way, I think it's important to know what my engine temp is. Any suggestions other than sending it in to get fixed, which is my last resort as a broke college student?

As for your temp gauge only going up a tad, it sounds like your thermostat is stuck open which doesn't let the engine get hot. That could very well be your no heat problem you have in the other thread you started. ( Heat won't work 94 LS) http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/cooling/thermostat.html

When it's hot out, the heat and humidity makes the grease in the tach and speedo needles very sticky. Very common problem.

This should be in your other thread about the heat, but yea, the thermostat is very important because when it's stuck open the engine temp stays cooler then it's supposed to be. That's why, back in the day, we used to remove them in the summer. (before ECUs) But now engine temp effects so much with all the sensors sending signals to the ECU so it can adjust the way the engine runs.
