And keep us posted on what happens. If its insurance that pays for it, they could total the car if the cost is more than the listed value, not cool.

Toyota should really cover your costs on this one. It's their fault, since it seems they didn't put the spark plug wires on properly; perhaps leaving too much slack in that particular wire that rubbed. It's a good thing dicer pointed out the cam covers!

Too bad you're not near the dealer that did it. This makes things a little more complex..

Best of luck.

The dealer is paying local mom and pop shop to repair it in the town I'm working in. I've heard several good things about him from the locals here and online reviews.

Hopefully a new belt and wires and everything is back to normal.

Excellent, I'm glad things are working out so far.

All fixed up and running fine! Free of charge. Hopefully I dont have any further problems with the car, driving 8 hours to Chicago today.

I do hear a slight ticking noise but I think that has been there since I bought it. Should I see into getting the valves adjusted or what are your thoughts on that?

Glad you got it fixed and leave the valves alone.

It is one of the 100,000 mile tune up belt change deals to check it.
