RMM intake vs Modified Air Box

Be wary of open air filters without a cold airbox surrounding them. On the car with the hood closed they breathe the hot underhood air which can be 200 degrees. On a dyno the hood is open and they can breathe cooler air. If they are allowing more air flow and that air is cool there will be a power increase. If the air is hot you can loose the gain and possible make less power. Also, if the air entering the MAF is not smooth you can also loose power. I have never tested the RMM but obviously feel that modifying the stock box is a better way to get more flow... cheaper too.

Alright. Thanks for the feedback.
I figured some Japanese engineer at lexus spent a good amount of time designing that airbox. I is pretty doubtful that a shiny tube and cone filter could do better.
