Seeking advice on Reman ac compressors
I have a 1995 LS 400 in need of an ac compressor, I'm considering a reman unit and asking if anyone has experience using a reman unit. Parts Geek seems to offering one for $300 bucks for the Denso unit, I'm assuming its a reman, does this make sense? Lots of remans on Ebay but they are for 1st Gen ('90-'94 models), I'm very leery about the ones claiming to fit '90 - '00 models yrs. as I'm sure there's a difference between 1st and 2nd gen. models. Any advice on this issue will be much appreciated. Tia.

In the parts book .
For a 1990 a/c compressor is 883205003084
For a 1996 a/c compressor is 883205006184
I would think they would be very close there maybe some update on the newer ones or just how the lines connect. The mounting should be very similar since its the same basic engine except for compression ratio changes and thus being interference.
Oh and yes I looked the 95 is the same as the 96.

Pole Position
"Remanufactured" is more subjective in that the supplier does not tell us that all wear items are replaced or if not replaced because just within factory tolerances..and what are those tolerances...
The purveyor of rebuilt parts cannot tell us whose components are used in the rebuild process because they are not reliably informed by their supplier.
Anyone buy one of those lifetime warranty alternators? They never last as long as the factory installed alternator.
If AC compressor internals fail it can cause other damage to the system.
Go with new for peace of mind.
Rock Auto advertises "First Fit" Denso AC compressors.
It is unclear whether these are new or rebuilt...can anyone clarify?
Thanks.
