92 LS400 wiring issue?
Just recently I've run into an issue with my LS400. Not long after I got my brake lights replaced, I noticed the car was having an issue. The dashboard console was dim, and when I hit the brakes the "R" reverse light would pop up. Weird, I thought. So not far into driving the dashboard console would get bright when I hit the brakes and the "R" symbol would light up and stay on at the same time.
It wasn't until I drove it at night is when my problem got weirder. When I switch on my headlights and drove out to the street, my gears wouldn't shift from 1st to second. I didn't know what was wrong and thought the transmission was conking out. I took it to AAMCO and they said nothing showed up in the test. So everything was fine on that end but later found the problem only happened when I turned my headlights on. Other than that the car shifts fine when the headlights are off.
So now I have deducted the problem to a wiring issue. And I'm wondering what exactly caused this and how I could go about fixing it? Could it also be a fuse issue? What would tell the car to stop shifting when the headlights are on?
Anyone else have this issue or know what it could be?

These cars have a known problem with the wires around the trunk hinge on the left side where they run into the trunk lid. They have been known to break from the constant trunk lid up and down and I suppose short out as well. That's the first thing to check. If its not that you may have to start a slow process of removing a fuse and trying things out, and using this slow process of elimination. Please keep us up to date on the progress, it helps us all.
