Miracle adhesive review or I broke the tail light
I can't believe it, just did the flashing trick to reset the airbag warning light on my '93 LS and I get another one. This time it's a car with it's rear lights on. So the manual says it's a warning light informing me a bulb is out. Sounds easy enough fix, .... no problem.
Figuring out light assemblies is like messing with wire connectors, it's harder than hell to get them to come apart. I manage to pry the wrap around tail light mounting pins away from it's fastener but the side along the finder won't release. Looking from the trunk side, two bolts look like they're holding a mounting bracket for the toolkit housing.Between the two bolts is a rubber tip that looks like it's part of a pin type hold down. So I a little more pressure on the assembly and pop, its loose.
So, have you seen those commercials where this miracle adhesive saves the day? I have this tail light with two huge holes. The rest of the fixture is still fastened to the trunk with the bolts I thought was securing a bracket,. I just noticed last week the local hardware store was carrying the infomercial glue. Now I have a immediate need for it.
Just managed to fit the pieces in place. A couple of areas aren't flush but will have to do. Tested the adhesive on a toothbrush but failed miserably. No more plastics to test. The dispenser is like the tip of a pen, It lays down a bead about 1mm wide. So I outlined the entire cracked area with the adhesive and flashed it with the blue led light that instantly cures the glue. Outlined everything again to build up the bead and hit it with the blue light.
I can't say it's as good as factory but it's fixed and solid and the tail light is again securely mounted to the car, Took 15 minutes, cost $19.99 for the adhesive kit, one tube of black, one white and blue led light.
I give this product four stars, it saved my ***, unfortunately, doesn't work on all plastics. If you try it, gradually build up the bead by adding additional layers. Too thick a application won't cure with the light.
Oh, and unscrew any bolts when in doubt.

Thanks for your interest in a post that has generated no comments. The product is BluFixx, information available at BLUFIXX.com. I blew out the reflective back of the tail light resulting in two holes of about 1 1/2" in diameter with many stress cracks. Adhesive worked like a charm.
