Default Need help with my 96 ls400 transmission and car wont past 2k

Alright well when I first got the car reverse wouldn't work until you drove the car around for like 10 minutes / 1st gear wouldn't shift over to 2nd gear it would stutter and I'd have to shift with my foot(gas and release the gas until the 2nd gear caught, about 3 days ago I drove it to my cousin house about 8 miles away I was driving then all of a sudden drive stopped working , all the gears except parking didn't work , after about 10 minutes sitting I started the car back up and the drive was really sluggish and wouldn't pull out of 1st gear , I drove all the way back home doing 30 at like 5k rpm.... once I pulled up to my house I went to park I put the car in reverse and it jerked forward then I put it in neutral and it jerked forward and in Drive it jerked hard ... after all that now my car won't rev pass 2k rpm
Please help!!!!!!!!

assuming this isn't some sort of trolling Vday post.....

ATF fluid level?
ATF color?
service history?
mileage when you got it?
current mileage on car?

if it is shifting so terrible.... WHY ARE YOU CONTINUING TO DRIVE IT?

It could be dirty filter/screen, it needs to be checked, and clean fluid added, if the old fluid is real bad drive it a bit after doing the service, then drain and add again. Hopefully the screen is plugged some and fluid is low. Also they could have used the wrong fluid, and its slowly dying.

Only error codes that come up is the exhaust 02 sensor but I have a muffler delete and my speed sensor code came up.

The transmission needs speed sensor information to know when to shift.
This could also be the ecu capacitors deal, and if that transmission has been slipping then you could now have some bad friction material, and that means another trans or to overhaul that one.

The speed sensors rarely fail. ECU caps is what I would check first. If your caps are failing and you thrashed it for 8 miles just to drive somewhere you probably ruined the trans too. Next time just tow it before you do damage
