I just bought this at copart for $140 bucks. The front is a bit tweaked but could be fixable .It runs but has 300k on the motor. I bought it just for the motor for my Celica. I might drive it around until I get around to swapping it.

Nice find for the Celica. Is this going to be converted to a manual for the Celica?

Wow. It's a shame what this car has been through, but you can't go wrong for $140!

Good luck with your future swap of the 1UZ into the Celica. The rest of the car may be good to part out, considering the unibody damage and bad front-end panels.

Hey on that very first picture notice the little spot just in front of the rear tire. How come all the LS's of that vintage have that?
You can make back some $ on all those parts.

Suspected to have to do with the manufacturing process, there's a plastic weld/adhesive used that slowly discolored the plastic panel over the years.

That's something I didn't notice in the picture, but I have been curious about as well. Thanks for asking in this thread.

Thanks for the response to dicer's question, PureDrifter! That's an interesting explanation. It hasn't happened to my car or my father's yet. Maybe a lot of layers of wax has been preventing that?

I have a w58 but I think I might just stick with the auto. It might be easier

Is there a "cure" for dreaded spot disease?

Using Dr. ColorChip seems like the best cure to me, followed by a possible clearcoat layer, then the regular coating of wax during washes.
