Default Big wheels. MMR hr3 fitment question

Just traded my sc for a mint 98 ls400 and I love it so far. I've already ordered my coils because I'm going for that vip style. But here's the kicker. I'm stuck on wheels specs. From my what my research shows. 20x9 +35mm will clear the front breaks with no spacer and 20x10.5 +35mm will fit the rear nicely. I'm not looking to pull the fender too much but I know I'll have to roll them. Am I on the right track here? And as far as tires goes, no clue...

You're on the wrong track.

wheel offset has nothing to do with brake clearance. The FAQ is where you need to start.

Need to find out if your rims are low, mid or hi disk. That will let you know what will clear brother.

correct, the wheel design dictates the brake clearance, not offset. i'm pretty sure MMR HR3s have decent caliper clearance but if they don't fit you will need to run spacers.

as for tire sizing, it all depends on how low you are. most VIP builds like flush mounted wheels/tires so that means a very low height so i suggest a stretch with 225/245 tire combo.

also a fender "roll" is not ideal on LS400s as they are double walled at the rear quarters. it's the same as your old SC so if you ever rolled those fenders, it's the same story. most opt to cut the metal to clear, minimizing paint damage from rolling.

low and mid wont fit bro and you going to need spacers if they dont fit just remember if you do get spacers you are going to need some that clear the calipers but also clear the original bolts so it wont catch on your rims lol rims for these are cool if you spend the money but if you dont want to dont bother ive just put 18x7.5 +35 all around and had to put 10mm spacers all around.
