I know they spray painted the grill. I believe it was black krylon, I'm probably gonna strip it and repaint it so it looks a little better.

Congratulations and welcome. Please become very familiar with the UCF1x FAQ stickied at the top of the forum as well as the LS400 bible at www.lexls.com

Welcome!
$500 is a great deal for such a car. May I ask the mileage?
As PureDrifter mentioned, LexLS is a great resource for you to reference, when attempting the needed maintenance.
I'm also curious about the paint color, as Dicer is. Is it the Black Onyx or the Black Jade Pearl color? If you're not sure, the paint codes are located below the barcode on your VIN sticker. I usually reference the specific color codes here: http://www.toyotareference.com/lexusls/1990-1994
Either way, great car. Welcome, again!

One thing to note about the PS system, the pump is known to leak and go bad, and it's located right above the alternator. A common problem is the pump leaking ATF straight onto the alt and killing it pretty quickly! Probably want to replace the PS pump and check out the alternator while you have it off welcome!

Good luck with the work on the car. While we're on the topic of checking the brake pads, here's something I do when taking the center caps off:
- Get a flathead screwdriver
- Cover the flat head end with electrical tape
- Use the screwdriver to remove the center cap
This just prevents any scratches, as your rims also look very good.
