Help Geting 18x7.5 +35 rims all around for LS second gen
Hey All,
Got my Lexus ls400 1998 about 5 Months ago after crashing my Acura rl 1997 so i bought the Lexus ls400 since originally i wanted the rear wheel v8 but i opted for a acura for financial reason now that i have a Lexus i begin to buy parts and the maintenance on car. I just bought some 18x7.5 +35 Rays genome g-Drilled rims from a japan importer and will have them delivered by next week Wednesday so i just want to make sure before i put them on at all that i dont need to get spacers cuz if i do then i want to come prepared when bringing car to the shop so i wont have to run back and forth to get spacers i would like to know if that rims size of 18x7.5 +35 rims will clear my lexus's breaks like mentioned on other forums i read theres certain sizes that wont clear t he breaks so any $0.02 cents would be greatly appreciated.Also if there are any bay area or NOR CAL Lexus Heads out there hit me up i would like to see other ls's so i can make a vision on what i want to do to my mods in the future thanks.

You probably want to get spacers if not to clear the brakes, then to move the wheel outwards more. A 18x7.5 +35 is gonna tuck a ton. I have a 18x8 +38 up front and a 18x9 +45 in the back and this is how much I tuck.
Granted... I'm lowered about 4.5", but it still tucks a lot.
edit: I just googled your rims and it'll be close... It looks like the lugs have a little bit of an inset and they're convexed, so you might be okay, but I'd get spacers just to be safe.

Honestly i have no opinion on what brand because I've never used them before. Any tire shop should be good, just be careful. Discount tire lost two of my Work valve caps and Firestone broke one of my discontinued center caps

Offset does not determine brake clearance. What you need to know is what "disk" or "pad height" your wheels are. '95+ LS400s require "high-disk" wheels. This may be marked as "high pad". I believe Volk uses the A/C markings, with "A-type" wheels being high-disk/pad (that should fit) and "C-type" wheels being low-disk, that will not clear.
As far as spacers go, if low-pad you will likely need at LEAST 15mm. For that thickness you will need either a separate spacer/stud kit (to replace your stock studs with longer ones) or an adapter (which will require you to either trim the stock studs or ensure your wheels have flycuts for the stock studs to protrude into.).
Spacer quality MATTERS GREATLY. The metal spacer is not he biggest issue but rather the quality of the studs is. Known good companies are H&R, Eibach, and Project Kics (for both stud/spacer kits as well as adapters). Ichibah has had issues with studs snapping, and off-brand/ebay/generic kits are HIGHLY discouraged.
I have been using H&R studs and H&R and other brand spacers for years without issues, though not for brake clearance purposes.

Bump so I tried putting the ray works genome get drilled 18x7.5 +37 they did not fit I was scrapping the caliber pretty badly so I left America's tired disappointed then went to a mom n pops shop to get customized spacers but u will have to sit staggered question is should I get spacers in the back to or just the front? Any answers will help.

im not totally sure what spacer size since I have to mount the tires first to see how muchh clearance ill need the dude told me I should sit staggered with 225/40 r18 in the front and 235/40 r18 in the bAck my tires come in today then ill be special ordering the spacers. Will update with how much space i need when I mount them later today hopefully I can GET her wearing shoes by this week tho.

Got the Rays genome g-drilled 18x7.5 +37 I got dummy clearance sitting on 225/40 front 235/40 rear 10mm spacer had to shave a little of the original lugs off so it wouldn't catch on the rim all around thinking of suspension after would load more pics but the forums wouldn't load with all 4 photos
