97 lS400 Parrot MKi9200 install - Help!
Hi i wonder if anyone has done this?!
im looking to splice the wires in manually.
Everything is in place for the Power/Earth/Ign/Mute
now theres 2 sets of 'Speaker' wires one set that goes to the radio and one set that goes to the speakers themselves.
Now ive tried to splice them in pre amplified but this is obviously being muted by the amp (so i found out )
now im assuming the speaker leads will need to go to the speakers post amplified but where does that leave the 'Radio' connection to go, or does this even need to be connected at all?
or would i essentially use it to bridge the gap between where i have cut the wire instead of just intercepting it.
would that mean that the parrot kit itself is amplified?
Any help is much appreciated

it's going to be a bear to install bc there is an amp under the seat of the pass side you have to contend with. the speaker signals differ going from the HU to the amp. to get the mute function to work i would imagine you have to wire up a relay to cut the signal instead of the parrot kit itself doing the muting. the relay would have to go between the amp and speakers instead.

Thanks Timmy I was thinking that but I don't have an amplifier under the seat? (uk car) unless its hidden beneath the carpet I did read a thread stating that it was behind the false wall in the boot.
anyway I will try to locate this and trial the signal being put down that side of the circuit. I have already experimented with the mute function playing either a CD or the radio and it mutes perfectly
Fortunately dicer someone can cut the parrot kit out if they really wanted too its not that hard a job fortunately enough I enjoy the sound quality enough to not want to mess with the stereo and had to look very hard in the uk to actually be able to purchase a second hand unit with a functioning LCD display! £25 Bargin!!
its just a shame that I cant use my phone in the car as I spend half my week behind the wheel taking phone calls! my ears are actually sore from using headsets.

thanks for the help guys ive found the amp and the speaker wires!
i tried to push the signal out post amplified direct to the speaker! but still no luck i cant get anything to come through im just trying with the front right speaker for now.
now your comment about the signals and mute made me think about installing relays to do the mute. instead ive tried pin 9 and 10 on the back of the radio 9 will mute just the speakers and not the sub but 10 mutes everything!
i currently have the blue tooth kit spliced into the wiring post amplified now im thinking i may need to run the circuit parallel?
or bypass the amp completely pre to post amplified?
ive seen people have done this sort of install but nobody has any real information on it!?
really struggling here
