Thanks for your input. That's what I thought also so I disconnected the tps and it fell down to a parked idle of 1500. I'm going to have the throttle body taken off and thoroughly cleaned in hopes that it will fall to within the proper specs. Is there anything else in the meantime I should have checked ?

Today I had the throttle body cleaned. The front side wasn't that dirty but once I had the throttle body taken off the back side was caked with carbon. Had to take a razor blade to cut through the grime. The idle is still at 2000rpms soTomorrow I am going to check the iac with a volt meter. If that needs to be replaced I will be replacing that.

The throttle body on mine was the same way but my car idled at 200 rpm so I sent the computer off. We will see tomorrow if that fixes it. I went ahead and got a iac and gasket just in case.

eBay has a few for about $40. Or find a junkyard in your area and you should be able to get them for that price also.

I have also been contemplating replacing my 02 sensors. I seen a few on eBay for $25 but understanding you get what you pay for I wonder if placing such cheap sensors in my 94lex will end up becoming a future headache or not. Anyone have any exp with them.

I paid $70 for the iac on eBay. It looks good so it's worth a shot if the ecu repair does not fix it v
