Strange shifting at high rpms
Hey Guys,
I just got my 92 LS400 about 2 months ago. the PO said he did a trans service on it (Drain and fill & Filter Change). when i got my hands on the car they had not tightened the trans pan all the way so it was leaking. I fixed that issue and put some more Type 2 fluid in it. The only issue im having now is when i were to say "get into it" when im entering the interstate, when it hits the top of 2nd or 3rd (cant remember which gear) it will hit the shift point and not shift, just kind of bog down for a second then shift. Anyone have any ideas as to why it would be doing this? Does it with O/D on and off

This is just a general idea and I don't know my assumption is related to you problem or not but I dare write what I would do if it were related to a electrical issue.
When sensor's signal is contaminated by other signals or some noise such as ripples, the AD converter in the ECU generates the logical HIGH signal and LOW signal randomly resulting a strange out put / drive signal to the solenoid. What I would do is to check the sensor's signal using an oscilloscope. It may not be an easy job for most of us and I suggest you to so the simple ripple test in the FAQ first.
