94 LS400 DS Electric Seat vs 91 Electric Seat Problem ?
I have a 94 LS400 w/500K & the Drivers Side Leather has ripped & worn out, but all electronics work perfectly. Found a 91 LS400 at the salvage yard & the seat (Sandstone Leather) is in perfect condition. Purchased it and took my seat out and it fit just like new....but the floor cable male connector from the floor does not fit the female connector on the 91. (I was told the 91 & 94 seats are interchangeable). The 91 female seat connector is approximately 1/4 inch higher & 1/2 inch shorter than my 94...so they do not fit at all. Had to put my old seat back in.
I'm not electronically gifted so I can't figure out how to get this 91 seat to work in my 94. I tried to just remove the track frame from the bottom of my seat to put it on the 91, but the main wiring harness cable which is coated in plastic is attached to the seat and, has no removable connectors that I can find and it looks like there must be 10-20 wires in this 1/2 cable...which I would have no idea how to correctly splice if I just cut it to get it off the lower track seat frame and change it over to the good 91 seat.
Does any one know how I can get this 91 cable connector to work on my 94 seat? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Tyn Cobb.

My thoughts on these wear issues is to have the seats re-upholstered. The 90-91 and 92-94 have been noted to have a different electrical layout. I've not seen discussion on rewiring them for seat swaps between these years. Same applies to the 95-96, 97 and the 98-00. A seat from the same year is the better odds.
There has been some past discussion on covers and upholstery prices.

Since the leather on the replacement seat's in much better shape, swap the skins over from the 'new' seat to your original seat. Taking the seat apart to get the skins is a bit of a hassle, but not impossible. It may be easiest to drop both off at an auto upholstery/trim shop to have the skin (and foam?) transplant done.
I nearly ran into the same issue with my '94--found some pristine front seats in a '92 at a pick-a-part yard, but noted that the connectors are different with the seats as I was pulling them out. Now, '93 seats are a direct swap, electrically and mounting-wise.
