The past two weeks I've been driving dad's '08 Corolla around. He surrendered his license following a stroke so his car has basically been sitting since November. The usual routine is to start it up then drive it around the block. That isn't enough so the car has seen longer runs. I was becoming used to it and thought "it wasn't THAT bad." Since the Westminster meet was today, the LS was driven . There was no mistake why I preferred the well aged Lex over his Corolla.
Sloppy worn bushings and all, the LS feels much nicer. When getting on the gas, there is no buzzing bee as it accelerates. The Corolla isn't that slow but the engine noise is not pleasant sounding.
The Corolla suspension is stiffer than the LS even.
I'd buy it for local errands, just don't know if that is the type of commuter car desired in spite of the MPG it returns.
