With liquid silicone sprays these days I think may not be a problem if I go with stiffer bushings hopefully.

Thanks, I'll look out for the Sewell manufacturer when looking for any bushing replacements.

Oh, these cars don't have LSD options do they? >< gonna be peg legging

liquid silicone spray is not enough to lube polyurethane bushings. they require a different compound paste which usually comes with the bushings and don't wash out over time like liquid silicone. plus you need to lube them BEFORE installation, unless you get aftermarket brackets that have zerk fittings.

and yes currently there are no LSD options for the stock LS diff that i know of. you'll need to put another cars diff in there which i have not yet seen (supra maybe). there is enough power on the V8 to spin both tires, just not as controlled as one with LSD.

Ah I see, probably a thick lube grease would do in that case.
It turns out that only 1 mirror down in reverse is normal, lol i'm missing some minor tech here and there compared to the TL =< oh well

How are our stock diffs? I did a search on the 98-00 Transmission, lextreme considers it a "medium duty" since it can only handle MAX 325 hp =S doesn't sound too bullet proof to me lol

lol the A650e can take way more than that. they tend to fail closer to 450-500hp, and aboout 400-450 ft*lbs of torque, depending on driving habits.

The 1IS/2GS guys run the same trans.

Here's a link that states 325 max --> http://etereman.com/blog/toyota-auto...-transmission/

there was another read somewhere that said something similar, can't find it.

I sure hope you're right lol because 325 is........

Also almost just about toasted an entire fresh clay bar detailing this LS4, now it looks almost showroom status

considering they used the same trans on the 4.3L cars putting out ~300hp and guys with bolt-ons making a fair bit more than that, i'll go ahead and say that the 325hp number in that article is a load of smoke

@PureDrifter ah that's good to know, peace of mind know that. Wonder how that article and the others came up with the "325" it does seem odd being really close to oem 1uz crank power lol

@dveneman yep busy indeed, thank you I'll be going to do another check soon enough to see if I missed any sections

got some interior shots for you guys

edit: turns out I have some kind of trunk leak, carpet and spare tire is wet. I havn't really gotten a chance to check this out yet... PHU CKK!

Check your trunk seal and the tail lights for the leak.

lovely grey interior! yes the trunk seal (rubber that surrounds the trunk opening) and the taillights are the usual suspects in trunk leaks. hopefully there is no repair work back there to indicate a past rear end collision!

Trade+cash(to you) me your steering wheel please!

Car looks great.
there was a thread a few weeks back about trunk leaks. there is some good info and links in there. Do a quick search and you should be able to figure it out pretty easily!

@sha @timmy Thanks guys, I'll check when I can; most likely will have to be tomorrow. I'll see what's up with the leak thread too while I'm at it. I hope it isn't a rear end collision... the car did have a minor accident report but still clean title, the owner kept driving it for over 40k after that incident so it probably was really minor.

@Shmee thanks, I think I want to keep this wood grain I ended up really liking it as opposed to when I first got it heh heh heh

I didn't expect many ppl to be open towards the gray ahha, I just figure/assumed people all want the black interior!

Hard to find a black interior in good shape in a car in good shape. Tan & grey seem to be more common on the used market from my searches...

@Shmee true that, to find a good condition exterior with black interior and good mechanical upkeep all around is definitely a hard find

@timmy hehe no worries I do like the gray interior, and mwa hahaha I have the wood grain!

update on the trunk

<--- what is that cable thing

It seems that the water pooled up in the center and the trunk floor is clean all around. Doesn't seem like I have a leak from anywhere, my dad said it could have been when I was blasting water @ it when I was cleaning it up ready for full detail. I'm relieved to know that the floor has zero signs of rust and looks super minty other than that standing water i'm trying to dry out in the center. All the standing water seems centered, dual layered carpets > spare tire > floorboard center

I also find it surprising the LS doesn't have patches or sound deadening on the trunk floor

Has anyone tinted front windshield by any chance? I'm going to keep it very light just for UV protection. The tint guy I go to mentioned something about not being sure if there could be electricals at the dash front that liquids can disrupt when tinting the front windshield anyone got insight? thanks
