Hello and help hot stalling
I I have searched for ages and have an ongoing issue, firstly I have a uk spec 1997 rectangular headlight model registered 1998.
I have various wiring diagrams that don not match my ecu 34p 22p 16p 28p with 89661-50351
when warm it appears that the IACV doesn't operate at all and vehile will only run with pedal pushed.
If you get a clean start the vehicle will run and run.
The engine m,anagement light is out and the IACV is the later non servicable version.
I have tried carb cleaner on valve and this makes no difference.
Any Ideas please

IACV bearings going out and failing ECU capacitors are both common issues on 93-97 models especially - given your symptoms, sounds like you have one or both of those issues

Thank you for the reply- I have a computer safe circuit tester, as I understand there should be 2 ignition feeds and
2 ecu earths. With rhe capacitors my ecu shows no signs of burning or ballooning capacitors.
I take it the capacitors are nothing exotic, I will look at link you gave me .
Thanks.

yes, the correct capacitors to use if you decide to replace them are quite exotic - please use the exact ones, brand and part number, linked to in post#1 of my ECU thread - otherwise the repair won't work

the 90-94 IACV will work fine on your car (with a couple of adapters for vacuum or water line size), and the cool thing is that the 90-94 IACV is serviceable, so you will have essentially a brand new one for less than $100 invested, rather than close to $1000 for a new one.
if a bearing or a coil has gone bad on the IACV, no amount of cleaning will fix it

I had considered soaking the valve part in duck oil or diesel over night to see if it was crud blocking motor.
I will see how it goes and report back- thank you for the advice
