Tail-lights not turning off
Hi guys, my tail lights are not turning off on my 1996 ls400.
Ive had to recharge the battery once already and have had to take the battery off overnight.
Any quick fixes?
Thanks

check the wire harness on the trunk hinge which powers the lights on the trunk lid. they tend to get brittle and start shorting out each other after years of open/close of the trunk. this is more common on 90-94 models but can also happen on newer cars.
I would start with the obvious, check the brake light switch, if it's ok, then get the real factory wiring diagram and it should be simple enough to trace down the fault!
this 1995 factory wiring diagram is cheap and will do just fine in a pinch, practically no difference from the very hard to find 1996 edition
