code13 but car runs fine. Now?
yes ive searched. LOL had a bad shake was tie rod end. fixed that. just before i fixed that i started getting a weird rpm drop at idle and somewhat of a rise in rpm under load at different speeds. sometimes even stalling completely at idle and then sometimes stalling under load and cutting back on real fast when under load. so this drove me crazy for a week or two. it would sometimes not happen for days. sometimes when engine cold sometimes when hot. course all the while searching and searching google, forum, etc. its not fuel pump. its not fuel pump related in anyway. bypassed the fuel pump regulator all that stuff. it not a vacuum leak. battery cable were a little loose but that wouldnt cause this either. starts fine. had a bad coil pack a while back. but this is not like a bad coil pack. but i picked up a used one it checked out and didnt make a difference when installed. so i now have an extra one. now i would also get an intermittent CEL. so i finaly pulled the code and was like OMG why did i not check this before. LOL anyway it was cam sensor wire rubbing on the acc. belt. so i moved them out of the way. checked for excess rubbing or damage to the wires. nothing. but both were somewhat touching the belt. Now to the weird part. heheheee
now it runs awesome again. but i get CEL about 2-5 monutes into driving everytime. still code13. how can i be getting code 13 and the car driving perfect? rpm everything right where it should be. so now im glad i found the problem but stumped as to why im still getting the code 13. yes i have cleared ECU several times. cold or hot i can shut the car off and not get the code back again for several miles.

i will guess code 13 points to left/passenger side. i only checked it and got a reading of 1156ohm resistance so from what i see cold that is bad and hot that is real bad.

actualy found the right amount of resistancefor the cam position sensors and both mine were fine and in spec. 1150 or so cold and 1300 somewhat warm.
didnt see any damage to wires at first. then tonight beofre going and buying a sensor just to find out it was not the problem. i rerouted the wire harnesses for both cam sensors since i dint know which one was code 13 or code 12. by the way passenger side is code13. when i moved the wire harness for the passenger side got it out of the way where it would never ever touch the belt area again. guess what??? found the belt burn mark through to the wires. through the shielding and it had cut through the green wire. yellow one was fine. no more CEL. My Lexus is a Lexus once again.
Resistance (Cold): 835 - 1,400 ohms Resistance (Hot): 1,060 - 1,645 ohms
