Default Swapping springs on coilovers

For those who have swapped the springs/coils for stiffer or softer rates on their coilvers, is it usually universal? I've got some junction produce coilovers on my UCF20, which rates are at 12/10kg. I need my rears stiffer since I'm running 18's for wheels. I was quoted $88 from Powered by Max but wondering if they would fit. PBMs coil measurements are 7" in length and 61mm inner diameter. Haven't had the time to measure my JP coils, hoping someone could save me the time.

very few people run the JP coils, you would need to go out and measure them. You need inner and outer spring diameters as well as free length.

for $88 I wouldn't buy PBM, you can get eibach ERS or Hyperco spring pairs for that much....

Just remember that you can only raise the spring rate a couple KG/mm without having them revalved or else the car will be severely underdamped.

There's plenty of guys here running standard 12kg/8kg spring rates on 18s, what makes you think you need a stiffer rate, esp. in the rear.

I was actually planning on matching the fronts so 12 front and back. As low as it is right now, theres a little hump in the rear wheel well I'm scraping the lip of my tire on. Just barely rubbing on bigger bumps but want to rid of the problem completely. I'll go ahead and just measure it. Thanks for the input PD

the car will be twitchy mid-corner and drive like crap, there's a reason FR cars usually run much heavier rates up front. take a moment to think this through, you're trying to fix a clearance issue by limiting movement instead of getting rid of the obstacle...

if you really want to raise the rear rate, you should have the front revalved and resprung to like a 16KG/mm too.

Or sell the JP coils and buy some BCs with custom rates and fix your clearance issues.....
