as we all know, our exhaust especially right after the catalytic converter hang low, that is where i majorly scrape and i had my muffler shop redo/tuck the piping thats between the second o2 sensor and cat because there was a hole in the piping from scraping too much which caused a CEL to come on. Now, i still scrape and the piping metal used is even weaker than the OEM pipes so its bugging me because i dont want to be going to the muffler shop every damn 2 weeks to get pipings redone, is there any way we can do to fix this issue? you guys have any pics of your exhaust pipings redone to avoid scraping? my muffler shop said they can only tuck it up so much but i still scrape a lot! and would the CEL and the air leak cause any MPG related issue? i heard the only concern should be anything BEFORE the catalytic converter, if thats the case i'd just leave the CEL on if it ever comes back on from me scraping a hole into the pipe again..

remove the upper mid heatshield and have them tuck it above the frame rails. Thats what I did and I never scrape exhaust anymore. Not sure if you can tuck it with oem piping though. Mine are 2.25" tucked up there. There should be pics floating around in my build thread somewhere. Too lazy to find it

cut the flange, get newer piping and weld it into the oem system. should give u a few inches more of clearance.

You can either shorten your cats by cutting and re welding the flanges back on, fab up some engine mount risers so your engine will sit a little bit higher, run some shorter test pipes, or have it tucked as best as you can. I saw a jdm company that makes angled "what nots" to wedge in between cat flanges and exhaust pipes, im pretty sure its easy to fab some up. Or raise your car up a scoch....good luck my friend, gotta pay to play.

thanks for that link. I've been thinking about doing just that on my car and seeing the finished product with the ground clearance helped me make my decision. I'll def be doing that soon.
