Looking to find a dye for my dashboard/steering wheel
I am trying to find a dye that I could rub on the plastic on my steering wheel.
This sounds strange but for some reason on the back of the steering wheel the plastic is turning white from whatever it may be...I want to make this look new and know a dye could do it.
I have the grey/blue interior
Anyone have any ideas? The plastic is not wearing away. something happened to it before I owned the car.

I think you need to airbrush it or spray paint it. You best bet is to get the primary colors and mix the paint till you get a perfect match. No matter what you get off the net it will never match perfect. If you don't think you can do the matching yourself then try and find a guy who does it for a living. The will have the airbrush and will match it exactly. You can try the internet and get a close match and most people will not notice the mistmatch but you always will.

Dye is the way to go. I have some wear marks on my door arm rest and center console where I rest my arm. I took it to a place that does vehicle upholstery. They would dye it for $200. They said the dye penetrates so as it wears from use its won't be noticeable. If you put paint or some other topical on it it will wear off, especially on a steering wheel.

I have the same issue with the Steering Wheel's leather, on my 2000 GS400. The color is Gray/Bluish but the sun's UVs have cracked it on the top area of the wheel. Any supplier's links that could help me with the proper dye? Please help.

During my quest to find a way to soften my car's hard and brittle leather, I found a company named Color-Plus and read quite a bit of good stuff about their leather conditioner . I am not sure how good their "dyes" are but you guys should take a look into it.
