Are late 2G's susceptible to the sticky speedometer?
I did a search and it looks like all the cases of the sticky speedo are from 1st generations. I've got a 2000 LS with it.
Just curious.

Mine has it
My '99 has this issue, more with the tach than the speedo. Now that I'm leaving it outside in the heat I'm noticing it much more, although it usually corrects itself eventually. I just downloaded a free speedo app on my smartphone and placed a mount for my phone on the dash, if the speedo decides not to work I just call up the app til it comes back. I can live without a tach, and as long as the temp & gas gauge work it's OK.

My 98 model has done it occasionally. Though I just give it a little 'love tap' above the speedo on top of the dash and it instantly springs into life and works fine from then on.

Just FYI there are some great threads on solutions for this problem, general consensus is that the needles have too much lubrication and create a kind of suction or vacuum when idle in hot temps until they move from a bounce or slap on the dash. Basically it means pulling & dissasembling your instrument cluster, a cheap fix but a very labor intensive one.

My 95 does this depending on ambient temps. I usually just give the dash a little open handed wack and it pops right now. Too lazy to fix it. Started doing it about a year ago.
