Help I cant get into my trunk.
I need your guys help!!!!!! Heres my story, I was ready to go on a trip to Minnesota and I just had my car serviced at a Local Toyota Dealer. They as I assume accidentally hit the trunk lock button up front on my 90 Ls400. I tried numerous times with my master key to unlock the trunk in the back as well as unlock the popper up front. I used all sorts of penetrating oils to no avail. I even ordered two new master keys from the same dealership with the vin #. Both will work on the doors and ignition but not the trunk or front trunk lock. I can't figure it out Ineed to get in my trunk but howwwwwwww??????? I have tried everything!!! My alarm system is in perfect working order but I know that it doesn't have any thing to do with as the only thing that doesnt work on it is the trunk popper. It is a Viper 550 esp by the way. I need help on who to talk to as the nearest Lexus dealer is 8 hours away. HHHHHHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPP!!!!!!!!

Try this!
The easiest solution is to pop the valet lock back out. To do this simply remove the lower cover that the lock is mounted to. On the back side of the housing there is a large round metal clip that goes about 3/4 of the way around the housing. It's about 4mm wide, and thin, can be easily pulled off. Pull it off, you will see a metal tab under it. Simply push the tab in with a screw driver and the valet lock will pop back out. You should then be back to normal.
You'll also need to get that trunk lock cylinder replaced. They rust and get stuck with age.
Hope this helps! Keep us informed.

I beleive the fuse is the same for the power windows. They work fine as well as the fuel lid popper. I think it is just the trunk is locked......I will try to tear apart the dash tonight. Does anybody have any pointers on how to get in there????

Lexus Champion
DD has a very good solution. I'll try his fix first. Remove the black plastic piece on the bottom of the cover, remove the trim around the ignition key( just pop out) and you will see 10 mm bolt that hold the lower cover in 4 corner.
