Sorry to hear about your car but glad your wife didn't get hurt.
And thank you for keeping your site alive. It has helped me a number of times and was one of the reasons I bought LS400.

Dang, LexLS, that was only a flesh wound. One of the worst aspects of driving and liking a nice older car is that it takes so little damage for an insurance company to total it out. Just curious -- what was the estimate to repair the damage?
Your website is certainly the best of its type. Thanks for keeping it going.

First, glad your wife is OK. We're all gonna miss your car, it is probably one of the most viewed LS400s out there. I know I have looked at it MANY times with all your tutorials. Before I got mine I looked at the T-belt change on your site, saw it wasn't that bad of a job, and BINGO, I bought my LS. Thanks alot for all your work and photos and good luck on your new purchase.

Thanks again for all the nice comments, they are appreciated
Regarding the insurance company buy. They base it on lots of variables like age (1991), mileage (~180k), condition, local sales, etc. I looked around and in Minneapolis similar ones were only going for about $2k. Well, I got almost $1800...I know, it's sad. Again, this was a tough decision for me with all I had put into the old girl.
One of the main reasons for letting it go was my son; I wanted as many airbags as possible for safety. I really wanted a LS430 but man, there was only 1 on the market at the time and we couldn't wait.
Also, I still have folders and folders of pics to go through which will result in a few more tuts. My LS may be gone but it will live on!

Oh man sorry to hear about your LS, I know the feeling. That sucks, especially when you put so much hard work and time into keeping it running so smoothly. Glad to know no one got hurt.
I too was thinking about getting an LS430, but I got a '98 instead and love every bit of it. Just keep your site going, pleeeeeeeease!

Though lacking multiple Airbags these are very safe cars & I am happy to hear that your loved ones are fine.
A truck tire hit my 94 at HWY speed and it is much worse than what I see of your damage. I am going to miss it but still have a 90LS to kick around.
Glad to hear the site is maintained. It is extraordinarily well done. It would be fascinating to see how many different countries users have accessed your site from?
I could in fact give you a drivers side fender at this point in time & would do so gladly.

even though the tutorials are awesome, you know what my favorite page of your entire site is?
the one that documents every little change year by year - I have a button on my bookmarks bar linking to it, I call it LS400 by year
only a dozen or so sites are rarefied enough to be on the cowboy's bookmarks bar, taking up prime screen real estate! - it has to be info you can get nowhere else, and that is! - no telling how many times I have been to that page and how much I have learned there! - you ROCK!
