94 ecu problem get a junkyard one or send it to get it fixed in tn.
We have a 94 ls with 140000 on it. It recently went into limp mode ,I had to drive it and shift manually 40 miles home. The cel was on with the trac off. I tried to read the codes by using the wire on the port under the hood and the one under the dash. Either place I got no flash on the cel. From what I have found on here it is the ecu not responding, so I went to removing it. I got the dash piece down that it is mounted on.I thought I would try it one more time before I unhooked it and it started ,the cel and trac went out and it started to run ok again. It ran rough for a little since it was loaded up from driving so far in limp mode. It blew gas and carbon out the tailpipes until it cleaned out and started to run ok again. Could it be a bad connection on one of the plugs or connectors.Or could jiggling the computer around getting the dash apart do anything. Im a bit stuck on what to do . If I do replace it what is the best option a junkyard ecu or send it to tennessee to get it fixed.Thax for any help.

do not use ATE if your going to try and have it repaired. i used them and they are idiots. they "repaired" my ecu twice. still has the same issue. i ended up buying a used one and it solved the issue. then, they wouldnt give me a refund after telling me they would if the junk yard ecu fixed it. even though i have the invoice proving i bought the replacement and can send them the old one. dont waste your money with them.

iirc ate is in tn. they are called automotive and truck electronics iirc. commonly seen on ebay. the guys dont know squat. they just change some caps and "hope" that fixes it. then when it doesnt, they refuse to give a refund.

Hello everyone i'm new to this forum and i hope to get good info on here. I just wanted to chime in on this as well. I had a similar problem with my ecu...no start. I heard about ATE and the crappy work they do and i actually saw some of there work in the salvage yards. While looking for a ecu for another vehicle i came across a ATE repaired unit and i opened it up and saw how bad the work they do really is. Like someone said on here all they do is replace the caps but they do crappy soldering too. I could've soldered better than what i saw...hell my 5 year old could do it alot better with his eyes closed. I went with F.A.C.R. in florida and they got my unit fixed the next day. I found them on ebay through a Mitsubishi listing. I got this done about 6 months ago and no problems at all. I would stay away from salvage yards for these ecu's because eventually they will fail and like most yards no returns on electronic devices. If you want the info let me know and i'll find my paperwork and give you the number or address. Hope this helps in you choice.

Ok i found it for you. The guys name is Martin and the number is 301-356-6880. The address to send your ecu to is:
F.A.C.R.
Attn: Martin Tate
8102 17TH Ave. West
Bradenton, FL 34209
I think you have to call him first so he can log you in as a incoming rebuild. He will answer any of your questions and get some info from you as well. Check ebay he might have a listing on there with more info. Hope this helps.
If anyone else needs this company i highly recommend them and feel free to use this info.
