Default lurching from suspension

not sure what to call it, however there is a sort of creaking noise of some sort coming from the suspension when going over large dips in the road. Not really speed bumps but if i go faster so that the suspension moves up it will make the noise, but mostly smooth larger dips in the road. Anyone know what suspension part needs to be replaced? im guessing control arm bushings all around but i have to buy the whole arm. btw its got over 200 000 miles or 318 000 km.

No idea...what has or hasn't been replaced in terms of suspension parts?

not sure, i can have a look at the maintanance records, i know the cv's were replaced. I think its a bushing of some sort, i guess i can just move around some parts on a lift and see which ones are loose.

At this stage, pretty much any-all of the rubber bushings are probably well worn. You'll also see this as symptoms of uneven tire wear/alignment problems. Like your vibration thread...engine, tranny mounts are on the list for replacement.

Basically what I read/hear of these LS's in terms of bushings:

strut bar front and rear, front is most common.
upper and lower control arms
sway bar
engine and tranny mounts

Other:
steering rack mounts
differential/carrier

More but lesser:
door weather seals.

Hardware:

tie rod ends
ball joints

The ball joints are pretty robust for the 2-LS. When I had ours removed at 80K, they were still pretty solid so it depends on driving conditions. The 2-GS had issues so after reading their threads, I swapped mine out to be sure. Luckily it was not a necessary fix but happily, it is done so one less worry.

Maybe PD can recall better, I don't recollect any threads about worn ball joints. Enough on replacing them to track down other suspension problems but otherwise...??
