Looking to buy a 97 LS with "higher" miles
Hello. I'm looking at a moonstone 97 LS400 with roughly 83k on it. I'm new to Lexus's and not familiar at all with the LS400.
It's a private seller who has all the records on the car and it's been serviced only by a Lexus dealer. I drove the car and found just a few things wrong with it. They are:
Passenger side button to raise and lower the seat belt is pushed in and the plastic housing is cracked. Weather stripping on the passenger side front and rear doors were coming off. Excessive tire noise...some Dunlop tires.
He has had the car since 60k miles and never has replaced the tires. All other work has been performed...I'm looking into this further. Not exactly sure what he means by "all other work." Brakes for a fact are done. I expereined, what I think is a lot of wind noise driving at 65-70mph speeds along with a lot of road noise but you can see the car will need tires within the next couple thousand miles. Keep in mind, I am not familiar with the car what so ever. What I think is a lot of road noise might not be that much.
He is willing to get all of this fixed at the price we agreed upon ($18500). What else should I be looking at in this car? Please tell me all that you can since I no next to nothing about this car.
Thanks!
