trading the lexus for a acura
the ls tread is dead so i posted it here.
heres my deal
i have a 90 ls400 that is fully loaded with every option including air suspension and nakimichi sound system with 18in 2pc. rims. i currently have 165,000 miles on it and my blue book is 6,000 and change...the paint is in good condition and its is quiet...
my cuzin has a 92 integra gs-r with 164,000 miles..he had power everything jus no leather and heated seats...he has intake, muffler.cams, lowering springs, performance shocks, and a nice system with 17in rim, clear lighting, alatazze lights ( Nasty), and other misc. stuff...oh and its a 5 speed
is it worth trading the lexus for his integra..i had real fun driving it..surly nothing i will feel with the ls400 and i am 18 years old and i feel i need a sporty car....
should i do it or not???

NO way...
Here's why... If you decide to get the Integra and say in a year or two you want to trade it in for something new, your resale value on the integra will be nothing. Also, the Integra has way too many miles on it to be racing it out. I would expect problems if you're hard on the motor.
What would I do? Keep the LS until you can afford a used IS300. Your LS is a great down payment for a used car.

Technically speaking no it isnt.A 92 Integra stick with a buck 60 on it is worth maybe like a Dime wholesale at most.
However if the integra is modded and done right and has a real clean body with maybe a nice, or custom even paint job, then it may be worht a trade to YOU.It still would have to be something you really want to maybe add a turbo and do it up..Also, again the Integra really has to be a gem.Personally for me it still wouldnt be worth it.92 Integras with that mieage to me are worth like a nickel or so.
If this is a car that you are really interested in taking on as a project it doesnt sound like a bad piece to begin with.Still though chances are the rims are knockoffs, and the other mods are cheap leaving the vehicle worth what its worth or less regardless of mods.
If you want an Integra look for a newer model with much less miles thats clean and trade in the lex for that then you can start right..Remember I still do not know if this Integra you speak of is done right.
If in the end you HAVE TO HAVE THIS ONE then at least trade your Lex and get the right amount of cash from the Integras owner to compensate for his car being worth considerably less.
Now my best advice is to keep looking.
Good luck

I agree trade your lex and get what its really worth. Then go by the Acura. Go to www.kbb.com and see what both cars are worth!

Another idea just hit me.
Since it appears you want a coupe and a stick whay dont you consider trading ro like a 92 or 93 SC300 stick.
Sporty, reliabe, plenty of performance and appearance upgrades, and best of all you will still be in the Lexus family.
Trading in your LS400 with mileage for a sc300 stick(if you can find one with mileage should not be to dificult. You wont get an even trade but pretty close and then finance the rst.

thanks alot guys!!!
the integra just received a full sand blast, no dings, no scratches paint job i think he did 5 clear coats or something. Yea the integra is nice to drive but when i start to realize it, those low compression engines wont last as long the my v8.
he drives the car like he has no soul. Redlines most of the time...i might consider a sc3/4 i cant find no sc's around my area...bronx,new york....which suck....
sooo i think i might keep the ls4 and get a sc if i run into one...i am not gonna leave the lexus family...my next car gonna be a lex for sure.
