Odd engine noise

We have a 96 LS 400. My wife drove the car into the garage today and a sound we had not heard before came from the shut off engine. It sounds like a "Burp", or " Moan". Not continuous. Waiting for it to cool down to check coolant level. Searched posts no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Have had car 3 weeks. 80 K Thank you

burping sounds usually come from air bubbles in the coolant.

did it happen as soon as you shut it off? or after how many minutes?

My 96 has been farting for 10 years. I think it only does it in the summer.

Noticed on shut down, but was driven with radio, stree noise, so exactly when, unknown. Coolant is at proper level. No overheating based on temp gauge..
