1995 LS 400 - Window goes down when unlock car or open door
Ok... this problem has been occurring for a few months now...
It happens 80-90% of the time... moreso with the key but also with remote.
When I unlock the drivers side door, the drivers window goes down...
If I push the lock button (in the car) then the window stops going down.
Also... lets say it goes down and I drive away and put it back up myself, then the doors will continually unlock and lock / unlock and lock BUT... the actual lock switch by the handle does not move.. I can hear them unlocking and locking inside the door...
If I have the doors locked, this does not happen.
And then again, whenever I go to unlock my car, the drivers side window goes down.
Or I have had it completely unlocked, got out and turned car off to go make a bank deposit, then came back, opened the door (just using the handle as car is unlocked) and boom, drivers side window goes down again.
Any insight into this? Expensive fix?
Thanks

sounds like all your issues are in drivers door... i would check the drivers door module ... its like a computer inside the drivers door and controls things like locks windows alarm functions and so on... good luck with it

Also check the driver door key cylinder. Sound familiar?
My very old thread:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...r-problem.html
Maybe in a follow-up in another theard, those contacts wear causing a metallic smear to impregnate the nylon composite. So it shorts out causing all this behavior. Suggestion, use the remote to lock and unlock the doors.

HA! Good to read this thread! The initial story/situation up top described by the guy Blaise (back in 2010) -Ha the way he described it there -is exactly what I say! Describing it to somebody, what mine's been doing!.. Ha, how about that. I love the ClubLexus forums man. ^ ^
I have a beautiful Black 95' LS400
So rite now mine's in the shop. +yes it did take a couple different mechanic guys taking a look at it, at a couple different shops at different times yaknow,, (+After having it for the day) each ended up saying they just werent totaly sure yet
--But I think we've got it now. (shop she's in today, (Davie's Auto Repair in PalmDesert, CA.) while getting a few other little things done too) -said they suspect it might mostly be from the Door Lock mechanism -needs to be replaced. (unfortunately this part isnt cheap. I dont know what other people can get it for but this part is $400.-$500?
So we're going to put the new Door Lock mechanism in and see if that fixes the whole crayzee issue --of the Driver's side window going down whenever the Door is unlocked. =P Ha, maybe my story helped somebody else too. =]

That is the answer I am gleaning here man.
