installing Kenwood DNX9140 in 96 LS400?
i posted this in Lexus Audio, but no answer...
i am just going over the installation instructions to make sure i understand everything before i commit to buying
existing Nakamichi system
i am keeping stock amp & using the RCA outs
some signals i am not sure about:
AP+/- (radio) to HAP+/- (amp) what are these?
there is no signal on the existing radio to detect dash lights are on or dimmed
i have ANT, ANTA, ANTB, AMP connections for the antenna - all are fed from antenna power?
AMP+ is power control to turn amp on?
MUTE (amp) not used
BEEP (amp) not used
TLE MUTE not used
mark

i would reccomend taking it to a professional. if this was a 1990 accord then have fun hacking it up.. but this is your lexus. if your not sure what your doing then do you really wanna guess and potentially screw everything up?
i see DIY guys come into my shop everyday and theres an easy and a hard way to do everthing... seems the DIY guys always choose the hard way.
the 9140 is a kickass stereo... one of the top of the line kenwood models. so your obviously not skimping out on the equipment u buy... why go cheap on the install? and u do know if its not installed %100 correct in regards to polarity of the signal to the amplifier you will actually get worse sound than the factory system was.
