Default Help!!! 93 ls400

Hello guys, It's been awhile since I've been on this site after selling my SC...But I need some feedback from you guys. I'm currently driving an 08 G37 coupe and since winter is right around the corner, I'm in need of a winter/daily driver. I've found a 93 LS400 from my local craigslist...It has 211,xxx miles on it. Comes with 20" chromes and a dvd player. From the pictures, it looks real clean but when I went to the guys house it defin. showed its age. Rear driver side door has been hit, not really bad and a bunch of dings/scratches here and there...Interior is grey and is in pretty bad condition. Engine looks clean but I noticed the Check engine light on and the owner was curious about it aswell. Even though I will be using the car as a beater, I still like it to be reliable since I have 2 little ones that will be riding in it. My Question to you guys is what else should I look for besides oil/gas leak etc.? He listed the price for $1800 but went down to $1400 or $900 without the rims. Its kinda hard to explain since you guys cant see the car in person but do you think its worth buying from what I explained? Thanks in advance.

here are two pictures he listed

and some of my G

if all the maintenance has been kept up to date and 2 full tune ups have been done at 100k and 200k then the car shouldnt give u any problems,

if the car still has the original starter id watch out for that tho, the starter on these cars seems to go an need to be replaced around the 150k mark

make sure there isnt a power steering leak caz it could cause the alternator to go

thats all i can think of off the top of my head at the moment

ill post what i wrote on VSC.

hmm 900 aint bad at all.

heres a list of stuff to check for.
-ask when the major maintenance was done (timing belt/water pump etc.) this car is not a interference motor which means if ur tb breaks nothing will go wrong. but when it does, its a pretty penny to replace it since its almost dismantling the whole front end of the engine.
-see if the cluster lights are crapping out, if they are, its an easy $10 fix and pm me and i can help.
-climate control lcd screen is probably fubar-d but replacement screens are about $100-120 or so.
-check the power steering pump for any leaks, cause if this leaks, ur going to have to replace the line AND a alternator..pretty penny also.
-check for exhaust leaks, as the engine mounts wear, the motor flexes more and the EGR pipe on the rear will tend to hit the firewall and eventually crack it.
-then check all other stuff, brakes, pads etc.

oh and if u need any parts, i have a 92 ls400 parts car in my possession. oh and checking the CEL is cake, www.lexls.com has a tutorial on how to pull the codes, i think its in maintenance.
