Question AC question.... please help!

quick question, my parents have a 96 ls400. but when they turn on the AC, or heater, i'd have to push the button to maximum so i can feel some sort of breeze...... does anyone have this problem too? what could be wrong?

Default check

Check the A/C air filter behind the glove box.

Default Quiet

Lexus runs the blower at the ABSOLUTE lowest speed possible to minimize the passenger discomfort from the noise.

Other than that you may have the airflow inlet, at the base of the windshield just under the rear of the hood (bonnet) blocked with leaves or some other debris.

Another thought:

The blower electronics is such that all blower speeds except MAX are driven my a semiconductor device, on MAX speed a relay is used to bypass even the small resistance of the semi-conductor device.

I can't remember at the moment where the device is mounted but I do seem to remember that it is readily accessiable for repair purposes and of course it may have simply gotten unplugged for some reason..
