oil light comes up when doing 100mph

land speed and engine speed are two separate things. the engine is not spinning near redline at 100mph so i would not worry about oil starvation or low pressure at that speed.
what the probable cause for the OP (5 years ago) was low oil to begin with! at the same RPM regardless of what speed or gear, the oil light will have come on if low on oil. of course it's possible sudden g-forces while braking or accelerating caused the motor to starve for a brief moment.
