its due for timing belt away. NOW. motor is interference and due for TB every 90k miles. if you lag and snap the belt you WILL destroy the motor. they arent cheap.
next-please break up your post, nobody likes to read huge chunks of text. i read about 2 lines in and got really really bored.

Yeah, the search feature of this forum is extremely helpful.
If you don't know your car's history, I recommend that you have a full 90,000 mile service performed and have all the fuids except the power steering fluid changed -- and some people probably think it should be changed too. The spark plugs were due to be changed at 120,000 miles.
The correct program card has to be used in the scan tool to change the LPS settings. Use the wrong program card and all the settings will not be accessible. See the attachment. LPS (CBES) settings can not be changed without a scan tool.
You can register and view the owners manual online at https://auth.owners.lexus.com/lexuso...sl/OwnersLogin Some have said Lexus will give you a replacement for free but I don't know about that. Get the maintenance schedule booklet if you don't have that.
A common "problem" that affects all years of the LS400 and many other cars is that many of the front end suspension bushings and joints are worn out well before 180,000 miles and have to be replaced -- not a big cost unless they all need to be done at once. From my experience with LS400's over the past 19 years, the strut bar bushings are the first part to go.
You might want to ask a Lexus dealer for a list of all the TSIB's that were applicable to your car and which ones were applied. If your 2000 was manufactured later in the model year, most of the stearing column issues were corrected at the factory. I'm pretty sure I posted the steering column TSIB's in the past -- they include the VIN numbers of cars that were effected.
Do some searches and ask if you can't find want you are looking for. We'll try not to beat up on you too hard!
Hey, and we all like to see photos of newly purchased cars.
