The Controversial Tranny Flush
So not sure how many of you remember but a few months back there was a very heated debate going on amongst member on wether or not to flush a tranny with a 155000 miles on it that had never been flushed before. well i thought id let everyone know i did it today. at my local trusted shop. where i know they used Type T and did a FULL FLUSH! and i have zero problems the only things those guys said about it all was never to do it if the tranny is slipping. Just thought id let all you high-mileage guys know this!

Yeah I remember that thread - still can't imagine why clean fluid is a bad thing but I don;t want to get into a debate. Good for you for flushing it. I have flushed mine twice and am now draining the pan every 6 months or so

I just drain'n'filled a case of Toyoter Type T-IV through mine. Did about 6 quarts on weekend and a couple later did the other half.
I agree Steveski, kinda confusing as to why it'd be a bad thing but I don't want to hear an argument over why either! hahah

I have driven mine about 750 miles after a transmission/diff flush. I had to get my radiator replaced because it was cracked and tranny fluid was ending up in the coolant. I drove it for about 2000 miles after the dealer told me of this contamination (they didn't know about the radiator problem then) and never had a single problem and it's still driving great.
BTW I made sure they used T-IV.
