First Gen Owners Must Read!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, if most of you have seen my other post's about how my car(1993 Ls400) has had all these problems, car running better without maf connected,Severe surging/bucking around 40 to 55 mph, Loss of power and throttle response. I finally got the Ecu out and mailed it to a company in Florida that repairs/rebuilds/reprograms Ecu's. Well, they called me today and said that my Ecu has leaking capacitors! Thats been my problem the whole time. After all the money and time i spent on all the other stuff! Anyway's Didn't hurt anything though, would need it in the future anyway's hehe.. Now, he told me that all the first Gen Ls400's Have a problem where the capacitors will eventually start to leak out inside the ecu. So if any of you have problems like i am having, or unexplained loss of power, have your Ecu checked! I suspected the ecu the whole time, i should have went with my Gut feeling. I thought i would post this as Maybe it will help someone find there problems, You all have been a help to me. I don't know for sure what he told me is true or not, but i thought i would share it.

175$ buxs, they said thats for rebuilding and reprograming.. Pretty cheap actually. I thought it would cost way more than that for what they do.. oh yea, and I believe its a year warranty also, they said it shouldn't fail ever again, well the parts they replace anyway..

I dont know if they really reprogram it, thats what they said. dont know how they could unless they have special stuff, I thought Only Lexus could reprogram the Ecu. Anyway, The company is Called, Auto Computer Exchange. Mine is suppose to be back around Wednesday, Very excited, hopefully this will fix my problems!

Well, I gave up on mine. After dumping money into this POS for over two years, I'm done. Lexus shouldn't be building cars, and both of my Lexus prove that. I won't ever buy another Lexus.

my 92 had the bucking problem when i first bought it... did all the usual tune up things... plugs, wires, timing belt, water pump, tensioner, pulleys, caps and rotors. but the bucking still continued. tested the MAF, my boss used to work for Pro-M back in the early 90's, so he know ALOT about MAF technology. but he said it was good.
then i went to my buddy's oil change place and while changing my oil, i told him about the bucking problem. we kept talking a little, and i told him i wanted my trans flushed. he said he couldn't do it the way the lexus dealer could. so we just went with a drain and flush. 1 1/2 bottles of type IV and i bottle of lucas transmission treatment (i forget the actual name on the bottle, but it was lucas).
proceded to drive home and the bucking was still there, 40-45mph... but low and behold once i put some miles on the car, i didnt even notice when, but the bucking had actually gone away.
now, i'm not saying the lucas did the trick... might have been a coincidence. but the bucking is no longer there. worth a try. i think it's only $10 a bottle at autozone.

I just measured the voltage across the maf connector, its almost 0 volts on everyone, is this normal? can someone check theres and let me know? and also i noticed i heard the exhaust making like a puffing noise every few seconds and when i unplug maf it doesnt do that. one more thing, looks like the guy i got it from has overfilled the tranny, can that make it shift harsh and buck or damage it? i guess i am going to drain some out and replace it with lucas and get the levels right. Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated. thanks everyone.
