Default Do we have a temperature sensor light?

My instrument panel has the notorious problem.. including the temp gauge not working. I don't have the money to fix it right now, but if the engine happened to overheat, would a light show up on the dash? (considering the temp sensor still operational).

Thanks!

I contacted Jim Walker about fixing it, and it would be close to $450.. and I don't have that right now. I'm real careful when it comes to my cars... and I hate not having a temp gauge.. i dont mind my tach and fuel guage not working. I actually smell my engine every time I shut it off, and check my coolant regularly. It hasn't ever overheated, and nothing leads me to believe it will, I just wanna be careful.

the LS400 rarely overheats...unless of owner neglect. 450 bucks...LOL flipping ripoff. spent 10 bucks on caps (5 for shipping, bought 2 of each cap) and had my uncle solder it for me. everything fixed and working. if u just keep an eye on ur car then ur good.

Is it different that I have sticking gauges, and sticks that arent lighting up? I am horrible at doing electric job... it scares me to be honest cause I feel like I will make things worse haha
