Default new ecu or reset?

my 93 ls400 was running rich so I took it to get looked at.( it was not the MAF, the o2's or TPS) he installed a crankshaft sensor but he says the computer has been reading wrong info because of faulty wiring that has also been fixed. does anyone know if resetting the ecu would fix this, or do I really need a new one because the car is running extremely rough and rich still. Thanks in advance for intelligent input.

pull the negative battery cable for a few (5-7) mins OR just pull the EFI fuse.

no, I did not check the distributor, and yes it has trouble starting and when it does, it drives like a lawn mower. now the ce light flickers as if there is some sort of electrical problem.

shop said it was either the wiring harness to the ecu or the ecu itself.
