Oil Pan Gasket '91
Has anyone changed the oil pan gasket?
I have a 91LS400
How hard is it to change?
Do I have to use a silicon to stick the gasket?
Thanks

Great so I don't have to remove the header or anything? The pan should either fall straight down or around the exhaust pipe?
Would the Black silicon from an autoparts store work just as good as toyota's
Any experience with it?
Thanks

I'm fairly sure you can remove the pan without removing anything else, although I've done the job on an SC400, not on an LS400. Any black silicone should work fine.

I looked at mine and it weeps a little here and there, but decided to just leave it alone. With the FIPG the pan will not just fall off. You really have to work to get it off.

Good question. Seems like they all leak, including mine before I fixed it. Man, was it hard to get off. I've always used blue RTV and NEVER had a problem. Although, this is my first Toyota engine.
