93 Pioneer Stero Dead
the original went dead, bought another one off ebay and it was dead too, had a friend look at my wiring and power is all good to the radio, is this a common problem with these radios? anyone know where to go for repair of the radio. it does have the CD.

Radios are normally good. To be honest with you, the price you will spend to have it fixed, will pretty much be close to what a new one will cost; depending on features. Just save up and get an aftermarket radio, you will be much happier, and you will have more control over the sound, bass, etc.

The radios do not commonly just die. I personally would try to find another Pioneer HU rather than going aftermarket as trukn1 suggested for the simple fact that the factory system is a fairly good setup, and it will be cheaper to find another factory unit. For repair, any electronics repair shop should be able to assist you, but I'd try another unit first, if you're certain that the car is not the problem.

Yeah, radios don't normally go bad as trukn1 said. I'd look deeper into the vehicle to ensure there isn't anything (maybe the amp) that's shorting or causing the headunits to die. It may end up just being bad luck.
The factory system was good when the cars first came out in the 90's, but compared to what you can get for under $100 today, it's garbage. You'll be MUCH happier with an aftermarket headunit. You'll lose function to your factory subwoofer, but it's not that big of a deal. Since I replaced my Pioneer unit, I now have clearer reception overall with just the secondary antenna (disabled the main power antenna), as well as clearer sounding treble. I also can play CD's in my dash, have my iPod hooked up, and it's got preamp outputs for when I move my subs over from the Camry to the LS.
