UCF20 II - HID and NAV available?
Hey guys,
Im looking for an LS to be my new daily driver. I average 30k a year and I think a UCF20 II would be the ideal car for the $$$. Wheels, a drop and some mild body styling would be the extent of the mods. (a throaty yet quiet exhaust too I guess)
Did these cars come with both Nav and HIDs?
Thanks!!

HID headlights were never standard during the 98-00 model years. 99 LS400's without HID are very rare and and 00 LS400's without HID are extremely rare -- but they are out there as are a few 98-00 models without sunroofs and even more without basics like heated seats.
The 98-00 nav system had only a 20 megabyte hard drive -- yes, I said megabyte and not gigabyte. Even the most inexpensive aftermarket nav available these days has at least 50 times more storage capacity, covers rural areas in detail and has 1 million plus POIs. To put that in perspective the postage stamp size SD cards I have in my camera, PDA and Magellan sat nav are all at least one GIGABYTE.
There are threads on this forum about the options that were available on the 98-00 LS400 -- over $10,000 worth (retail price) of options were available.
On cars as old as the 98-00 LS400, options are vitually free so you might as well find one with lots options -- except avoid ones with OEM nav.

- The wood shift **** became standard equipment.
- A few engine refinements.
- Steering column was slightly refined.
- The daytime running light system became standard equipment. This is basically the same system the Canadian models had been using for years.
- A blank mode was added for the instrument cluster where no cruise information appears.
- A change was made to the reverse shift function linked to the outer rear view mirrors.
- Top speed = 149 mph; 0-60 = 6.3 seconds; 0-400m = 14.9 seconds.
