just did the 90k mile service on 98 LS. good price (or so I think)
hey guys..
i finally had my 98 LS serviced at Longo lexus. it was a 90k mile service and included:
timing belt, spark plugs, transmission oil, brake oil and etc.. (basically everything you can think of)
the price quoted was $940 but the sales rep gave me 10% discount. what happened at the end was that my water pump and idler, tensioners all needed to be replaced and my final price was $1300 with tax (new battery and AC filter replaced as well).
i think it was a great price. i called most lexus dealers in so cal and they quoted me some crazy prices on the 90k miles service WITHOUT timing belt replacement (around $700-900) and timing belt alone was about $600-700.
if you guys want to know the name of the sale rep. who helped me, PM me. he also gave me a loaner, and next service free coupon!!
hope this helps

by the way, i got an RX as a loader and i was surprisingly very disappointed about its riding quality. it was not as smooth as any lexus would and should be and the engine definitedly screamed for more powers.
also anyone knows how much original lexus hood struts cost???
thanks

thanks guys.
re: aftermarket hood. i looked at the tutorial but looks like it is NOT something I can do. i guess i will just leave with the broken hood struts for a while.
by the way, my service guy was Eddie Diaz. he is a very nice guy. give them a call and make an appointment with him. i've dealt with many other service guys at Longo but he is definitely the best.
and now.. is there anything else I should look forward to when it comes to regular maintenance at this point (my car just hit 95,000 miles)??
thanks all
