Headlights Not Auto-off 92 LS400
My headlights would not automatically shut off when I turned the car off and open the drivers door. I needed to replace my battery and after replacing the battery, the lights now shut off when the key is turned off and I open the door. Did replacing the battery solve the problem, or was it merely coincidence? If replacing solved the problem and it reoccurs, can I fix it by disconnecting the battery, then reconnecting?
Thanks so much for the info on this site. I had a number of other questions, but found answers to all of the others by searching this site.
Respectfully,
Macc

Are the lights inside the car coming on when you open the door? Check the light switch on the driver's side door. The switch has to move to the on position when the door is opened for the headlights to shut off.
These switches can hang up. Oftentimes, a little WD-40 sprayed inside the rubber boot will solve the problem.
I cannot see how changing the battery would have any effect on the auto-off headlights.
