Changed my battery today and VSC warning popped on... Ideas?
I still had the original OEM Lexus battery in my 1998 LS400 and decided to change it out since I had an extra relatively new Optima Yellow top battery I could use in the LS (originally bought for my GS).
Had to do away with the battery box (Optima is much smaller than OEM battery) and do a bit of bending on the positive cable to reach the terminal. I'll need to use some washers to make the tie down bar fit snug as well.
Once the battery was in place and I started the car, a VSC warning popped on (red led to the left of the dash text message display and text display said 'Check VSC').
Tried stopping / restarting the car and unplugging the negative cable to reset again... no change.
Anybody encountered this before? I searched for 'VSC light' and the only thread remotely close I could find was Horta's here -->https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ight=vsc+light but I haven't had any throttle issues like he did and no CEL. Seemed to run a little rough at first, but I expect a little of that when the ECU is still learning after a reset.
